Advising Philosophy

Asking questions and challenging ourselves to look at interdisciplinary connections of what we learn is key to developing confidence and ownership in how we use the knowledge we gather. My advisement philosophy is to be a guide to you and empower you as you navigate the university system. I am here to help you explore what you want to learn and develop goals for your success and your future.

About Me

Hi, I am looking forward to meeting you! I am thrilled to be working with UNM students as an advisor. I hope to help you receive the information you need to be empowered and supported through your college experience. I am an alum of UNM (BA '09) and I love my home state of New Mexico. After my undergrad, I attended Emerson College in Boston, MA, for my MFA ('12). I am a writer, editor and educator. I have taught courses at UNM-Valencia and edit the literary journal, Manzano Mountain Review. My collection of speculative naturalist poetry titled Recipe for Time Travel in Case We Lose Each Other released in February 2022. I love to travel, read, play video games and adventure with my dog, R2D2.
