Welcome to your Required Next Semester Planning Workshop!

What is this?

The Next Semester Planning Workshop (NSPW) is required for students in their first semester in the College of Arts & Sciences. The workshop will help you use your degree audit and UNM Catalog to plan courses for your next semester.

Your NSPW hold must be removed before you can register for a future semester.

How Do I Remove My Hold?

Complete the online, self-paced workshop below.  To successfully complete the workshop, you must:

  • Score at least 8/10 on the quiz.
  • Submit 5–6 possible courses for your next semester.
  • Complete all required portions of the workshop and submit a form.

Once successfully completed, please allow 1–2 business days for your hold to be removed.

Who Needs to Complete It?

Complete the workshop if this is your first semester in A&S as a:

  • First-year student
  • Transfer student
  • Student who recently changed into an A&S major

Currently taking a section of ARSC 198: A Lobo's Guide to A&S? You do not need to complete this workshop separately. Your hold will be removed based on successful participation in the course.
